A fielder's choice by L Kline put Kennedy on the board in the bottom of the first. Kennedy scored eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. J Beyer drew a walk, scoring one run, B Panuke singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, J Hansen singled, scoring one run, Kline singled, scoring one run, and C Rich homered to center field, scoring two runs. Kennedy added one run in the third after Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball committed an error. Jonah Jayne opened the game for Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and seven runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. G Vaquera opened the game for Kennedy. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Jayne led Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball with one hit in two at bats. Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball turned one double play in the game. Kennedy piled up 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter H Beyer led Kennedy with four hits in four at bats. Rich and Panuke each drove in two runs for Kennedy. Kline collected two hits for Kennedy in three at bats. Kennedy were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. COVE PLAY DAY!! This was a last second put together, Cove is going to host a Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade Play day tomorrow 5/19/26 @ the Cove Football Field starting at 2:15 pm ( Cove Kids Only) . The 5th grade and Jr- Hi Students are going to oversee this event and help during their PE time. There will be relay teams ( for the kids that make it) and each kid will participate in 50m, 50m hurdles, 150m, Long Jump, and Softball throw. At the end of the day they will return to their class to be ready to catch the bus. All parents are welcome to come watch their athlete.

The race for second place is getting intense between High School Girls Basketball and Junior High Girls Basketball. Right now, the High School girls are narrowly holding onto second place — but it’s still a very close competition!

Every ticket sold helps support these groups, so keep the momentum going!

Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball With Great Performance From 2 Pitchers To Defeat Weston-McEwen/Griswold By GameChanger Media Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball defeated Weston-McEwen/Griswold 7-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jonah Jayne and Kash Carreiro each pitched for Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball in the game. Carreiro struck out Angel Romero to get the last out. The bottom of the lineup was strong for Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball. Nixon Howell, Carreiro, and Parker Holder combined for five of the team's 10 hits in their victory. They scored three runs and drove in two. Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball got on the board in the top of the third inning after Matt Blake hit a sacrifice fly, and Weston-McEwen/Griswold committed an error, each scoring one run. Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball scored five runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. Jayne was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Carter Pansevicius singled, scoring two runs, Holder was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Howell drew a walk, scoring one run. Jayne earned the win for Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball. The pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Bennett Cavalletto took the loss for Weston-McEwen/Griswold. The starter went six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out eight and walking none. Carreiro pitched two innings of scoreless ball for Union/Cove Varsity CU Baseball in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out four and walking none.
