Laura Gibson is coming to school to talk with kids about being an independent artist/musician.
Fun fact: She was the very first Tiny Desk Concert. It started as a joke after a quiet set in a noisy venue at SXSW. Bob Boilen told her she could play in his office if she were ever in D.C. Perhaps they would be able to hear her better. She took him up on it, and the Tiny Desk concert series was born.
While in town for Cove students, she is also playing a show at HQ in La Grande.

This weekend our very own FRC team 9438 | Leopard Tech competed at the Idaho Regional tournament held at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, ID. This team fought hard competing with teams from around the world, some coming from as far as Shanghai, China. They came out of qualifications ranked 25/38, but were a standout throughout the competition for executing a formidable defensive strategy. During alliance selection, which precedes the elimination rounds, 9438 was a second round pick to be apart of alliance 4 with teams 9449 | Yellowjackets from Calgary, Alberta, and 2486 | CocoNuts from Flagstaff, Arizona. Their alliance made it into the Semifinal round, and Leopard Tech was presented with the Rising All-Stars award by the judges. This event concludes their season, but we cannot wait to see what this team has in store for next year.
